Somatic Therapy rooted in nervous system regulation, feminine embodiment & body love.
Virtual 1:1 Sessions for Women
Our intuition is our felt-sense instincts. It’s the intelligence of our bodies.
The power of feminine embodiment is claiming a life led by our deepest, primal knowing as a woman every step of the way.
Regulate your nervous system, become deeply attuned to your body, address burnout, and build your capacity to enjoy the messiness and beauty of life.
Learn to trust your body, to love your body, and to be led by it.
“I got immediate results, releasing old, toxic stored energy from my energetic fields and the body (and emotions) both at the same time. It felt like I was unlocking stored trauma in the cells and DNA. Talk therapy can’t touch that.”
“My experience was soul-transformative. Like losing 10lbs of energetic baggage, which literally felt like losing physical weight. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the impact was surprisingly powerful.
”

Our experience of life as a woman — menstruation, birth, menopause, sex, love, mothering, sisterhood, sensuality, body love, creativity, and our health in a female body — is all tangled up in our bodies and nervous systems
Discovering the language of your body and nervous system, paired with somatic education, will teach you to integrate the past, land in the present, and empower yourself with a newfound intelligence moving forward.
You may want to step into this work to ground, know and love yourself better, or you may want to step in around a particular theme. This work is particularly supportive for…

“I have never taken this approach with myself before, I can tell my mind/body is very receptive to it, it was almost like I was being heard in a way I had never experienced before, it was a new way to listen and nurture myself. I had VERY big shifts in each of the sessions. It felt like I could just breathe, drop in, and listen and feel the magic :) Honestly, I feel like we were in person, it felt like you knew what was happening, just like when I had in-person energy-bodywork sessions with you years ago, it was amazing!”

Somatic Therapy focuses on the body instead of the story because this is how we rewire our physiological responses and patterns that are running our lives.
It doesn’t matter what you think, or how you think you should feel, if your body doesn’t feel the same way.
The story matters less than the sensation and experience that comes with it in the very moment. This doesn’t mean that in sessions there’s no attention towards our thoughts or emotions, sharing or speaking, or that speaking and being heard, felt, and witnessed isn’t part of it – it’s that it’s not isolated to this.
We are so used to keeping ourselves busy, our minds moving and occupied, that we’ve distanced ourselves from ourselves. We’ve lost touch with the intelligence of our bodies, and when we give them space to speak and lead, they are way more attuned to the reality we are living in than our heads.
Our heads can create all kinds of stories, but our bodies don’t lie. And coming back to our bodies is where the answers are.
“Talk therapy is very cathartic. It can help me answer questions, have insights, and just feel better by talking some stuff out of my head and heart; whereas this was that, but then a big step further. ”
Every single thought, emotion, or experience we have has a physical sensation that arises with it, and being led by this is what allows us to complete unfinished loops that are unconsciously running our lives.
There is a physiological response that happens with every experience, thought, and feeling, and it’s all too common to not be attuned to it, or to ignore it, hold it back, or shut it down. When we don’t let it express and complete itself, it remains an unfinished loop in our nervous system, a scratch on a record, repeating itself every chance it gets, even in inappropriate or insignificant scenarios that trigger it.
This is why we start with an intention and what is present — and we go from there, allowing the body to lead.
Our bodies speak, and our bodies are primal. They can’t mask their feelings like our minds can. And they will always show us the root.

I've realized that taking care of myself doesn’t have to be hard. It can be so calm and gentle and nourishing, and I can still heal and move forward without so much pushing and warrior-like work, which is so nice for a change. The somatic stuff seems so gentle, and you have a very calming energy. Even though it’s virtual, it still feels like a healing session in person!" — Anonymous
"I love the trust and the complete safety I feel when working with you, Abby. You facilitate gentle love and guidance into the somatic experience providing an opportunity for deeply profound work." — Jilly

FAQ’s
Sessions are typically 50 minutes, but they are booked for 60 to allow a 10-minute buffer as needed.
These sessions are not to treat trauma; they are deeply trauma-informed and nervous system informed, but they are not for acute active trauma.
Abby is not a licensed mental health counselor, and values being very transparent about this. She is a trauma-informed somatic educator for women and has been a body worker since 2011, specializing in women’s health through abdominal massage and pelvic floor therapy. She’s facilitated women’s circles since 2015 and has held space for a thousand+ women between circles, retreats, hybrid experiences, and 1:1 sessions over the years.
Most women have experienced trauma at some point in their lives. Things may come up in sessions, but the expectation is that you have done the appropriate work beforehand, while also knowing Abby will be fully present with you and able to refer additional or other resources as needed.
